Our friends at Coldwell Banker Chesapeake are planning a fun day for your pets to raise funds for our pets! The event will be held on September 9th 11A-3P at their Easton office at 208 East Dover St. Easton, Maryland.
The day will include a pet photo booth, food, and fun for you and your pets!
A GREAT raffle will accompany the day- The amount of the tickets will be $5.00 for 1 or 6 for $25.00. Winners will be drawn at this year’s Bark in the Park on October 14th! Tickets will be on sale beginning in August. Prizes include:
1.“Original Oil Painting of your Pet” by Laurie Yates
2. 3 Months Membership to Hearthstone Health + Fitness Club plus 3 personal training sessions
3. $150.00 Visa Gift Card
A door prize will be given away every hour during the event plus a pet bag will be given to everyone walking through the door.

Did someone say “clear the shelter?” Well that is exactly what we are striving to do on July 15th- with your help of course! We are working to place our many deserving pets into loving homes at our Annual Summer Adopt-A-Thon. Talbot Humane has waived ALL adoption fees that day for pets in our care. Regional rescues and humane societies have been invited to show pets for adoption as well!

We encourage potential adopters to come prepared so we may process your applications in a timely manner. We will do our best to fulfill same day adoptions, but cannot promise this. You can help by being prepared:

that is get copies of your current pets’ vaccine history
if you rent, a copy of your lease stating you can have pets
be sure to have your photo ID with you

Talbot Humane is so proud to announce we have joined forces with fellow Maryland humane and animal control facilities to place 2,000 cats and kittens in new homes during the month of July! Fees will be waived at all of these facilities and each one will have other special incentives.

Our open admission shelter could not do all we do without the support of adopters, donors, volunteers and well wishers. If you are considering adoption of a new cat or kitten, July is the right time to fall in love! We can’t wait to break this number and place these needy pets in loving homes, with your help!

For the 3rd year our Talbot County high school guys are being GREAT sports and leaping out of their comfort zones for the animals in need! Come see a hilarious evening for the 3rd Annual Womanless Beauty Pageant! Each young man has a “coach” to show them the ropes, help them with their talent competition and make them beauties.
We know all of the students involved are truly beautiful inside and out for spending their time to raise funds for the animals of Talbot Humane. There are 2 winners that evening, Judges Choice and People’s Choice- that means YOU help choose with your donations! So bring some cash and be ready to pick your favorite contestant!
Tickets are $10 for adults, students $5. Refreshments will be available for sale too! Tickets are available at Talbot Humane, Little Rascals, Head to Tail Thrift and Vintage and Rise Up Coffee, or at the door.

1,115 animals entered the care of our open admission shelter
More than 105 strays were reunited at Talbot Humane, and close to 100 more in the community thanks to caring neighbors
More than 740 animals found their forever homes
313 animals entered foster care- pets that may not have had a chance without these volunteers opening their homes
Our Intervention Program provided resources and assistance to pet owners in crisis from across Delmarva
Our Pet Loss Support Group provided relief and caring to grieving pet owners from across the mid-shore
Our volunteers gave more than 11,000 hours this year to the animals, programs and events of Talbot Humane
Our pets and volunteers participated in more than 40 events this year across the mid-shore.
Our Pet Pantry served more than 7,000 pounds of food to hungry pets
Our Veterinary Heroes, those veterinary practices which give their time and services at a reduced rate touched the lives of well over 1,500 animals this year
2016 saw milestones for our UNLEASHED team- cumulatively they ran more than 13,000 miles and raised more than $25,000 for the animals!
More than 800 pets from Talbot and Dorchester Counties were spayed or neutered thanks to our programs and services
Head to Tail Thrift and Vintage opened in September and has been going strong with donations and shoppers alike
These are but a few of the many successes to be celebrated for the animals of our community this year thanks to your support.
Imagine waking on January 1, 2017 and the cages and kennels of Talbot Humane being almost bare… Would that not be the MOST amazing way to begin the New Year? Well, our staff and volunteers are going to do our best to make this a reality for the more than 170 pets in our care at this time!
Warm bed. Full belly. Love. Care. They don’t ask for much from us and what they give us in return is immeasurable.

When we speak to our staff and volunteers, some of our fondest holiday memories included adding a new friend to the family during the holidays. Our lives are that much richer when we share our hearts with those who love so unconditionally.
We welcome you to visit us Monday-Saturday through the holiday season, if nothing else allow us the opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support for our mission and values at Talbot Humane. We appreciate all you do, and, we know without you we would nothing.
Dec. 8~ Pet (and families) Photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus
This year our Photos with Santa will be located across the street from Talbot Humane at Head to Tail Thrift and Vintage on Rt 50, from 5-7 pm. Please join us with your leashed pet and have your holidays photo taken at our annual event to benefit the animals. Holiday themed refreshments will be served. The fee is $10 per photo.
Kick of the Holidays with a Sunday afternoon Paint your Pet Party to support the animals in need! We are doing this event on the 3rd floor of our new shop- Head to Tail Thrift and Vintage, across from the Humane Society on Rt 50, Sunday, December 4th 2-4PM.
The cost is $45, includes all materials. Each attendee should bring a photo printed or on your phone of the pet you would like to paint, just the face will do. It will be encircled by a holiday wreath. Artist Maggii Sarfaty will be helping each of us make our own holiday masterpiece of our beloved pets. We hope you can join us!
