Due to the overwhelming number of cats and kittens still in our care, Talbot Humane has drastically cut the fees for adoptions through the end of 2014!  All felines young and old, big and small have an adoption fee of only $10! This is in an effort to help the adopters with the costs associated with a new pet- wellness visit at the vet, food, toys, beds, litter pans etc., and to help find our beloved kitties new forever homes.  The application process remains the same, so apply today! The process takes 1-2 business days (often less!) Stop by today and fall in love with one of our MANY sweet cats.  Visitation at our adoption center begins daily at 11AM, or stop by PetSmart of Easton to visit with those at the Cat Adoption Center inside the store.

Can you believe we will soon be celebrating our 5th Annual Bark in the Park Family Festival? While this is our biggest fundraiser of the year, it is also an amazing day of entertainment and fellowship among the animal lovers of our community. This event has become the most fun you can have with your pooch on the mid shore each October! We love that so many dogs bring out their owners to support the mission of Talbot Humane. This year we are combining our traditional fun with some new and exciting events on October 18th!

I bet many of you skimmed through the Guinness Book of World Records as a kid and thought, “how cool would it be to get in this book?” Well, here is a chance for you and your dog to make history with Talbot Humane. We want you to break out the canine costumes for this year’s Festival! We have obtained permission to attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of dogs in a costume parade. This parade will be our Dog Walk for the event and is sponsored by Hair O’ The Dog. If the current record of 337 dogs is broken, then indeed each dog is a World Record Dog- now that is something to bark about! Per Guinness rules all dogs must be healthy, be in a costume of at least two pieces, and only one dog is allowed per handler. Preregistration is $25 and is strongly encouraged. This can be done by clicking here and registering online NOW or printing the BITP Event Registration Form and submitting to Talbot Humane with your payment!

Come out for our BowWowMeow Luau! All adoption fees have been cut DRASTICALLY! Food, door prizes and MORE!  Register on August 2nd for the Bark in the Park Guinness Costume Parade and receive a $5 discount on registration fees!  We hope to see you between 11a-4p on August 2nd!

Each year this is an AMAZING day for the animals!  In an effort to place the more than 200 animals in our care into good homes, we cut our adoption fees!  We know bringing a new pet home is an expense when you need new bowls, litter pans, food, toys and a veterinary needs.  Our goal, to help our adopters and the animals all at once!

Project Feline Fix is targeted to prevent litters of kittens from arriving in Talbot County and eventually at Talbot Humane. Thanks to a generous grant from The Snyder Foundation for Animals all cats 3 years old or younger, that are indoor/outdoor or outdoor only pets and owned by Talbot County residents will be spayed or neutered for only $10- this includes the rabies and distemper vaccinations! Lets prevent more litters of unwanted pets from entering our shelters and get your Feline Fixed. In honor of Independence Day and to show our appreciation for the men and women who have and continue to serve our country, Talbot Humane will be offering veterans and servicemen and women half price adoptions on all pets for the entire month of July.  “We couldn’t think of a better way to honor those who have sacrificed so much for our nation,” shares Patty Quimby, Executive Director for Talbot Humane. “The gift of a new best friend is priceless.”  All they need to show is military ID to receive the discounted fee at the time of adoption.  For more information on the animals for adoption or to submit an adoption application click HERE.

What a deal- our microchip service fee has been cut IN HALF for a limited time! 

According to the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy (NCPPSP), less than 2 percent of cats and only 15 to 20 percent of dogs are returned to their owners. This is a sad statistic, but it’s true! Your dog and cat cannot tell us their name, address or phone number- that is without your help!

Talbot Humane wants to increase the chances of reunited lost pets and owners.  One safe and effective way to provide identification is through having your pet microchipped.  In recognition of Pet Identification Week April 20-26, Talbot Humane will be offering microchipping of your dog, cat or ferret for only $10 for the entire month of April. This includes the registration of your chip with HomeAgain, a new collar and an identification tag.  Now when was the last time you even purchased a collar for $10?

Join the fun on Saturday, April 26, in Oxford for a Dog Walk and Show to benefit the animals of Talbot Humane. Talbot Humane provides a safe and healthy environment for unwanted animals in its care; places adoptable companion animals in good homes; protects all animals from cruelty and neglect; and reduces the unwanted companion animal population through spay/neuter services.

This year, Talbot Humane is proud to announce Hair o’ the Dog as its Grand Sponsor for Oxford Day activities.

The Oxford Day Dog Walk, sponsored by TriCrown Inn for Pets, begins at 9:00 and runs from the Causeway to the Ferry Dock. Once at the Ferry Dock, show your pup pride in the Talbot Humane Oxford Day Dog Show. This is always great fun, a donation enters your pooch in as many classes as you want. Classes include Tallest Dog, Fluffiest Dog, Smallest Dog, Most Adorable Puppy, Dogs Adopted from Talbot Humane, Look Alike, Dogs Adopted from Other Rescue Organizations, Unique Looks, Best Trick and Best of Show.

The Annual Oxford Day Parade begins at 11:00. Enjoy music, free rides on the Skipjack Nathan of Dorchester, delicious food, Oxford Marketplace in the Park and more, all day long.
