Gracie is a sweet 6 yr old, spayed female who from the looks of her has had a tough life before finding her way to us, she has many scars, we don’t know what Gracie went through in her previous life, but we know she is ready to find her forever. Gracie is currently in foster care and these are a few things her foster mom has to say about her.
She is affectionate, she is well behaved in the house, no running, getting on furniture, chewing on things other than her bone. Except for a couple of mishaps, she is house broken. She is patient. We have continually left her in the house for up to a couple of hours at a time and so far have not seen any separation anxiety. She is clearly smart and understands sit, wait and other basic commands. One thing at which she is consistently good is coming to me when she is off leash. At the dog park or the conservation trail, if I call her name, she comes. She doesn’t wander off, but checks to see which way I am going.
but its not all sunshine either
She is afraid of many things. A leaf blowing across the road, my foot dragging on the gravel, an unexpected movement. Things like this cause her to jump and cower. If we turn one of the ceiling fans on in our house, she starts shaking violently.
Gracie is going to need a special home with patience and ability to work with a trainer to overcome some of her challenges
