Our orientation for families and children will be held on Saturday January 6, 2018 at 1P. This program allows children accompanied by an adult to come to Talbot Humane and read to a shelter pet- dogs and cats alike! The quiet reading of the child helps soothe the animals, while the non-judgement of the animal allows the child to read without pressure.

This program focuses on children ages 5-14 interested in quiet time with our shelter pets. They may bring their own reading material or choose from Talbot Humane’s library of age appropriate humane reading material. Each orientation is limited to 10 children and their guardian(s). We review how the program works and the guidelines to keep everyone safe, children and pets alike.
