Dog Days of Summer – We’re Feline Good!

Talbot Humane is excited to announce our summer Adoption and Community Event! We’re proud to be teaming up with other local rescues, including Baywater Animal Rescue, Caroline Humane Society, Queen Anne Humane Society, Chesapeake Cats and Dogs, Hill Hounds Rescue and Animal Sanctuary, Kitty Kat Kottage, Eastern Shore Rabbit Rescue, and Dorchester County Dog Control.

Make sure you save the date:

July 27th from 11 AM to 3 PM

Dog Days of Summer is a FREE, family entertainment and community service event featuring local rescues and humane societies, community resources, food trucks, kid’s activities, and more!

A huge thank you to our community supporters who will be joining us that day! Come out and enjoy the bounce house, mist tent, face painting, food trucks, and community organizers here to share all Talbot County has to offer.

Register Now

While our event is FREE to attend, all adoption policies are still in place for animals. Please visit our site to apply now. Once approved, applications are good for up to six months, so you’ll be ready to go the day of the event! You can apply HERE.

For same day adoptions please bring the following paperwork with you:

  • A copy of your current lease with pet policy if you rent
  • Up-to-date rabies vaccination records for all pets currently in the home
  • Driver’s license or State Issued ID

We highly encourage you to pre-apply, as same day adoptions will be processed AFTER preapproved applications.

This process is for Talbot Humane animals ONLY. Each rescue or humane society will have their own adoption process.

To pre-apply at any of our partner rescues or humane societies for this event, please visit their websites.

$1 Microchips will be available during the event!

We highly encourage you to call ahead and to prefill out any needed paperwork. Microchips are through 24 PetWatch and will be registered for you. No appointments necessary, as animals will be taken on a first come, first served basis.

All dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier.

Our Pet Pantry will be open and available throughout the event. If you are in need of food for your animals, please let us know at the event and a staff member will assist you.

If you would like to help our Pet Pantry services, please bring a can or small bag of cat or dog food to donate! We couldn’t do what we do without our humane community.

Please check back often, as we will continue to update community vendors, services, and activities as more organizations register. For more information, contact Laura at adoptions@talbothumane.org
